newsflash imageAirtime upgrade a Pilatus PC12 propeller under STC - SA03466CH to a 5 bladed propeller improving noise, takeoff and cruise performance

The HARTZELL 5-blade carbon fiber propeller, first announced late in 2015, comes as standard on the newer PC12 NG

Better Performance

Thanks to the five-blade Hartzell propeller, the 2016 PC-12 NG cruises five kts faster, climbs to a cruise altitude of 28,000 ft 10 percent quicker, and has a 50-foot reduction in total takeoff distance. Its highly swept airfoil reduces flyover and cabin noise and its blades are certified for unlimited life.

“The Pilatus PC-12 with Hartzell’s newest aerodynamic five-blade prop will give owners and operators even better performance and the reliability to meet personal and business travel requirements,” said Hartzell Propeller President Joe Brown. Hartzell offers the new composite five-blade Pilatus PC-12 STC with 3,600 hour / 3 year Top Prop warranty.

Airtime are installing Hartzell propellers as complete wear replacement or as an upgrade.

Long-term Investment in 5-Blade Technology

“We have made sizable investments in structural composites, advanced aerodynamics, the newest manufacturing processes and we have developed strong relationships with business aircraft manufacturers,” Brown said. “Pilots of DAHER TBM, Beechcraft King Air, Piper Meridian and now Pilatus PC-12 aircraft have a highly desirable way to increase the value of their airplanes while wringing even more performance out of their flying assets.”

Designed for increased takeoff, climb and cruise performance, the new five-blade swept tip prop from Hartzell Propeller has received a Supplemental Type Certificate for installation on PC-12s. Hartzell’s Structural composite utilizes aerospace grade carbon fiber.

It is five to 10 times stronger than beech wood and spruce wood core propellers; stronger materials equals thinner, wider airfoils that optimize performance. The new propeller’s state of the art wedge shank retention system made of stainless steel alloy is likewise much more robust than alternative lag bolt and aluminum construction. Further, it has a nickel cobalt leading edge with a stainless steel mesh erosion screen for unmatched durability and FOD protection.
